National Board of Directors

National Board of Directors

The National Board of Directors for the National Business Development Association is the governing body of the association, responsible for the ultimate direction and management of the affairs of the organization.

The board can act only by consensus (majority vote of a quorum in most cases) and only at a duly constituted and conducted meeting, or by unanimous written consent. The board is responsible for any actions taken by the chapters or committees or persons to whom it delegates authority. An individual board member has no individual management authority simply by virtue of being a member of the board.

Criteria for serving on the National Board are as follows:

  • Must have served as a Board Member on a Local NBDA Chapter Board
  • Must be Director level or above within an organization
  • Must be an active Member within NBDA
  • Must provide strategic direction for NBDA that supports the vision and mission
  • Must attend all strategic planning meetings (six times a year)
