 Lori Vetters, HTC President and CEO
Lori Vetters is the President and CEO of the Houston Technology Center. She is a well-known and highly respected Houston business and civic leader with deep experience working with some of Houston’s major non-profit organizations. She has had substantial board experience with the Greater Houston Partnership, Teach for America and the Houston Zoo. Her extensive background in banking brings a wealth of experience in business leadership and strategy to the Houston Technology Center and to the entrepreneurial community. Ms. Vetters also is on the Rice Business School Board of Overseers and the Houston Community Foundation.
John S. Reale, Jr. (JR) is the Co-founder and CEO of Station Houston, Inc. (Station) the hub for Houston’s tech and start-up community focused on software-enabled start-ups. JR also chairs the Mayor’s Task Force for Innovation and Technology Task Force for the City of Houston focused on growing Houston’s start-up and innovation community, as well as serves on the Greater Houston Partnership’s Roundtable Advisory board who serves a similar mission. By background, JR has primarily concentrated on helping launch and grow early-stage technology ventures after starting his career in the financial services industry.
Erik M. Halvorsen, Ph.D, Texas Medical Center Director, Innovation Institute – TMCx and TMCx+ Erik Halvorsen became the Director of the Innovation Institute at the Texas Medical Center in November of 2015. In that role, Erik is responsible for the TMCx and TMCx+ incubators, the Biodesign program and is working to launch a TMC investment fund in 2016. He leads a cross-functional team responsible for the selection, incubation and acceleration of early stage healthcare companies and manages a 100,000 sq. ft. open innovation facility for ~30+ companies in healthcare, life science and digital health. Erik strives to broadly engage TMC network of 35+ hospitals, medical schools, universities, professional programs and clinics on all aspects and stages of innovation while leveraging a network of investors, entrepreneurs, advisors, mentors, operational and technical talent and service providers to support TMC start-ups.
Nick Tillmann serves as the Director of Client Acceleration for the Energy Sector. Mr. Tillmann is a seasoned energy executive whose experience includes more than 25 years with ConocoPhillips. He managed the company’s $500 MM global petroleum coke business, led strategy management for European businesses and started from scratch the company’s operations in Poland. Other roles included international crude oil supply operations, lubricants and the commercialization of technology-based products such as flow improvers, advanced separation systems and carbon products. He has been an Energy & IT Advisor for the Houston Technology Center since 2009. |
